My Story
My story begins eight years ago. After twenty-five years of being a history professor and free- lance writer while raising a family, my body had become so tightly wound that I could barely walk. The stuckness in my hips literally stopped me in my tracks. I tried untold quick fixes desperate for a practitioner who would heal me. With the support of sound healing, acupuncture, body work, and embodied movement practices, the holding patterns and armature I had acquired over a lifetime began to unwind—along with my pain.
Fast forward several years. I enrolled in acupuncture school and a sound healing program. I became a TRE® (Trauma and Tension Release Exercises) provider to help people relax their nervous system and unravel trauma and tension from their lives. I’ve studied cranial sacral therapy and myofascial release.
I am here today because I want to help people unwind their pain and rediscover their center.
I have gratitude for my family, friends, community, and mentors, all of whom have helped me arrive at this place. I give thanks by being a hard-working student of my medicine and helping my patients heal so that they can in turn become catalysts of love and light in their families and community.
